Apr. 3, 1952 - Jul. 29, 2024 Olney, Ill. - Melinda Sue Hunt, 72, of Olney, passed away on Monday July 29, 2024 at her home. Melinda was born April 3, 1952 in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Melissa (Allen) Adams. She married Joe Frank Hunt, Jr. on July 30, 1972, and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2021. Mel graduated from Palestine High School and attended OCC, where she met her husband of 49 years, Joe Hunt, Jr. Mel worked as an office manager for the East Richland Co. District Office and also was an administrative assistant to the Assistant Superintendent. Mel was part of the Richland County Board, RMH Hospital Board, Daughters of The Nile, Al Sihah Temple No. 29, Auxiliary VFW Post #4226, Beta Sigma Phi Women's Sorority, and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
